ALREEN HAEGGQUIST RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS PRESIDENT’S AWARD FROM CONSUMER ATTORNEYS OF SAN DIEGO

Alreen Haeggquist, Managing Partner of Zeldes Haeggquist & Eck, received the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego’s prestigious President’s Award at the organization’s 58th Annual Awards & Installation Dinner at the Westin San Diego.  Haeggquist was recognized for her tireless work on the CASD board and for her commitment to the organization’s community outreach efforts.

Haeggquist has dedicated her career to representing employees who have been wrongfully terminated or otherwise harassed and discriminated against at work. She has successfully represented employees in cases involving wrongful termination, retaliation, wage theft, contract violations, sexual harassment, and all types of discrimination.

The overwhelming majority of Haeggquist’s clients are women who have suffered egregious wrongs at the hands of their employers. She has recently represented plaintiffs in employment claims against such major corporations as Trader Joe’s, Sharp Healthcare, and Kaiser Permanente, and served class counsel in the well-publicized consumer fraud litigation against President Donald Trump and Trump University, which settled late last year for a staggering $25 million.

The CASD award comes on the heels of several other prestigious accolades, including her selection as a San Diego Super Lawyer for employment litigation and her inclusion in September 2016 as one of SD Metro Magazine’s “40 Under 40.” Last April, Haeggquist was nominated for the National Association of Women Business Owners’ Women’s Advocate of the Year award for her work on behalf of women who have been wrongfully terminated or sexually harassed in the workplace. She has also received an AV Preeminent rating, the highest peer rating standard bestowed on attorneys by research clearinghouse Martindale-Hubbell, for professional excellence in legal knowledge, skills, and ethics.  In 2011, the San Diego Daily Transcript named her a Top Labor/Employment Attorney, and she is a past recipient of the California Innocence Project’s Distinguished Alumni Award.

Haeggquist is a founding board member and currently sits on the advisory board of Think Dignity (formerly Girls Think Tank), a grassroots 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire, empower, and organize the San Diego community to advance basic dignity for those facing homelessness.   She has served as the community outreach chair for CASD for the past three years.

Haeggquist holds a J.D. from California Western School of Law and a B.A. from the University of California, San Diego.
